Dr. Ben Carson on Government Intimidation: “Think About Nazi Germany”

By Susan D. Harris

There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened. And if you believe that same thing can’t happen again, you’re very wrong…But we’re not going to let it happen.

– Dr. Ben Carson

In a jaw-dropping twist of pabulum-puking progressive spin, Dr. Ben Carson was maligned across the internet and elsewhere for asking the tough questions.

When interviewing Dr. Carson about his recent remarks, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly asked him:

So if you mention Nazi’s, you know you’re going to get hammered. But what you said right at the end there intrigued me a bit. You said if you believe it can’t happen again…see I don’t believe that Nazism could happen in the U.S.A….nor could Communism happen here. Do you disagree with me?

Dr. Carson went on to explain that if people do not speak up for their beliefs, they will be trampled. He added that buzz words that supposedly shouldn’t be spoken, like “Nazi’s” and “slavery” are examples of political correctness that he believes is a “bunch of crap.”

The best point Dr. Carson made was when he said he was most worried about the populace remaining silent and “not expressing what they believe because they’re afraid. They’ve been intimidated.” At this point, O’Reilly jumped in and asked, “By whom?” (If you hadn’t taken your blood pressure meds at this point, you needed to leave the room.)

“By the government,” Dr. Carson said, surprised by the question.

“How?” O’Reilly quipped, (as if he himself hadn’t reported on many examples of intimidation, including the IRS scandal.) Dr. Carson answered:

By the government, and by the media…the P.C. police, you say something…this is a perfect example. You’re using an example of how people would not speak up — they try to turn the argument away from that because they know it’s true…But rather than talk about that, they want to divert the issue to something else.

Dr. Ben Carson gave his comments at a fundraiser for an Oregon GOP Senate candidate. The full text of his comments discussed how the secular progressive movement wanted to “fundamentally change who we are,” and part of that entailed “keeping a blanket of silence over the majority.”

Immediately after his speech, he was excoriated by websites and news outlets across the country for simply mentioning Nazis.

Never mind that graveyards across the world are teaming with Nazi victims. Never mind that but for thousands of brave souls and gallons of spilt blood we might be speaking German. Now, in true fascist tradition, no one is allowed to mention the world “Nazi” unless they are spinning history for the History Channel.

Is it a coincidence that society waited for most of our WWII heroes to die off before they decided that any reference to “Nazi’s” was politically incorrect?

It begs the question: What did Americans die for? Did they die so we could forget the tactics and oppression of an ideology that nearly destroyed the world?

Progressives aside for a moment, does O’Reilly not know that U.S. lawmakers gathered on Capitol Hill as recently as last summer to discuss ways to combat an increase in Nazism across the globe? Does he not know that 20,000 American citizens attended a Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden in 1939? Are we really a completely different people?

The answer is no, we are the same vulnerable people. Nazism may not currently be America’s biggest threat, but we have allowed ourselves to be taken over by progressives that espouse the same zealotry, irrationality, vitriol and mass suppression as the goose-stepping tyrants of decades past. The ideology may be different; but when the time comes when we are maligned or ridiculed for legitimately asking whether those in power are using tactics similar to the enemy our fathers and grandfathers died to spare us from…we know that our future is very, very bleak.

BLOG POST: I don’t usually blog but…New Year’s Eve 2013…

new years eve

I don’t usually “blog.” I try to keep my writing to a certain standard and not jabber on with my personal views. I am making one exception today.

Man what a rotten New Years Eve TV wise. And I mean this in a MUCH bigger way than “Gee, the TV shows weren’t much.”

I know I know, some of you go to bed, never watch – but this is my take after decades of watching…

So we had what? Kathy Griffin, that immoral trollop over with Anderson (all the gay guys watch me cuz I’m gay) Cooper. They had Melissa (all the lesbians watch me cuz I’m gay) Etheridge and some other guests. Just a nice little end-of-days romp in the woods. (CNN was obviously so impressed with Griffin’s simulated oral sex on Anderson last year that they brought her back again!)

Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck – B-O-R-I-N-G. Hasselbeck was no Megyn Kelly, and although I’m not a HUGE Kelly fan, her absence on New Years Eve made Hasselbeck look like someone’s 10-year-old little sister was “trying” to fill in.

Meanwhile, they get Megyn Kelly LIVE on the phone closer to midnight, who shows a couple of pics and talks about some Mardi Gras-like-cheesy-place she is spending New Years Eve with “her man.” Complete with belly dancers (she said.) It sounded more like they were at a New Orleans brothel and you just kinda went, “ewwww.” BUT – according to Kelly – she never wanted to be anywhere else for New Years ever again! Yee haw.

Meanwhile Phil Keating was in South Beach Florida, a hellhole of hedonistic immorality. He kept trying to talk to people there thru the night and most everyone either looked like they wanted to kill him or walked away from him. (Some were so far drugged out they couldn’t respond or even walk). Others were just kinda like…”Hey.” Um….okay.

At some point, Fox News said we were going to watch Susan Boyle sing Auld Lang Syne. Well….kinda. They put her up in a box in the corner of the screen and then played highlights from the night – complete with audio overtaking her voice. That was total chaos. Original idea probably sounded good in someone’s drunken head.

And then just a quick word about Times Square. How sick is it that everyone is herded into pens – LITERALLY – HOURS before the ball drops – can’t leave even to go to the bathroom or get a hot cocoa. Well, you COULD, you just can’t come back. Really.Everyone has to be under 30 – I estimate, in top physical condition, and willing to stay in wind chills most people couldn’t tolerate while not drinking or going to the bathroom! It’s sick! But oh boy! They’ve got those stupid blue Nivea balloons and hats every year to keep them happy. Can anyone say POLICE STATE? (And great to have a German company promote themselves year after year in America’s most internationally viewed television event. Oh, and by the way, in 2011 Nivea published a map on their website that conveniently LEFT OFF ISRAEL. Great to know there aren’t any Nazi’s left over there.)

Dick Clark’s Rockin New Years Eve – um. Yeah. That went to the dogs years ago. If I see one more black man come out with the whole “homeboy vaudeville shtick” I’m gonna puke. Wow – look, I’m tough – I walk and talk like a gang member – love me! And of course – none of them can sing. They just come out and chant mindless rhymes. Impressive if you’re 5. (If only Bill Cosby could have come out and given them that “serious” look and thrown them off the stage.)

Then there was the Duck Dynasty interview…. Somebody wake me when it’s over. Bill Hemmer: “What’s coming up in the next season?”

“Well, we’ve got a lot of stuff going on.”

“Who is the first to break their New Years Resolutions?”

“We don’t really make any” (an answer I actually kinda liked because I get sick of hearing people talk about “resolutions” and I got the idea the Duck Dynasty guy didn’t give a rats bum about it either. Actually he and his wife looked like they didn’t give a rats bum about anything in particular.)

….you got the picture. The Duck Dynasty couple were nice enough, but it was like pulling two random people off the street! And when there was nothing left to ask them…Hemmer and Elisabeth kept asking them MORE questions that weren’t interesting and they had no interesting answers for.

Just did a Google search and found out it was Melissa Etheridge who sang John Lennon’s “Imagine” in Times Square. Surprised to find most other people also said she completely slaughtered it. I abhor the song because of it’s lyrics, but you have to admit that to the EAR anyway – the MELODY and Lennon’s voice are quite soothing. I said to mom – “Wow, they couldn’t even play Lennon, someone is SLAUGHTERING IT!”

Miley Cyrus, whom everyone had previously agreed was some sort of Satanic elf run amok seemed to get praises from on-air anchors last night – and at the very least promoted in a positive light. Hemmer and Elisabeth even promoted her – smiling and showing a clip from a video as she stuck her tongue out and spanked an obese black woman who was gladly bent over. Wow. That was FUN.

Look, I don’t tune in for a church service. If people want to get a little crazy – fine. But at least entertain. There was NO entertainment.

In Nashville, the music note dropped as three guys – perhaps one of them Hank Williams Jr. who we were told had performed but we never really saw – slaughtered Auld Lang Syne as they stumbled about the stage with their backs mostly to the audience.

(In the nearest city to me, we could hear the fireworks from our First Night celebration. We don’t have New Year’s Eve, we have First Night – originally started by a bunch of Boston hippies and was supposed to not emphasize alcohol consumption. (Excuse me while I laugh). So, basically all the liberal “artistic” people and gang members go downtown in a chaotic mess of “hidden” drugs and alcohol and have a whooping good time. The fights, arrests and stabbings are usually covered up. Only a gunshot makes it to the news when it happens.)

In short, New Year’s Eve – on television – was a colossal let down. Actually, it made one want to retire from society completely. At the very least one wanted to take a shower and try to scrub off the acquired filth.

If anyone wanted to confirm that civilized society – as we used to know it – is dead…last night did it. If anyone wants to confirm that humor, comedy and intelligence are dead…last night did that too.

Conservatives Dismissed Birther Concerns To Tackle Obama On “Serious Issues” – How’s That Working Out?

CLICK HERE to listen to the author read her article.

By Susan D. Harris

In a recent Freedom Outpost article  by Tim Brown, we learned that Obama’s presidential eligibility appeal will  finally be ruled on by Judge Roy Moore and the Alabama Supreme Court.

As we look back, we see a long road strewn with the wreckage of a divided  Conservative base. We see some Conservatives that can be likened to the kindly  driver who, in a quest to prove his generosity and fairness, waves a car into  traffic and directly into an accident — then drives on feeling no responsibility  for the crash.

In the same way, Conservatives who refused to acknowledge there was a problem  with Obama’s birth certificate have continued to feel no responsibility for  failing to defend Article II of the Constitution; and no remorse for attacking  those who did. We watched them cite newspaper birth announcements, and a short  form certificate, as proof enough. Eventually they accepted a long form  certificate that experts and scientists agree was faked. “It’s not a winning  issue,” was their mantra. Liberals so successfully mocked so-called “birthers,” that many Conservatives slunk off embarrassed and distancing themselves from  those who continued to assert the issue had grave Constitutional ramifications.

Many of us knew that the Democrats long-awaited, unblemished red heifer had  been groomed to take our country into Socialism within two terms, but  unfortunately for everyone, we couldn’t unite to stand and say, “You shall not  pass.”

Five years into the presidency and steeped in scandals and corruption, those  who scoffed at “birthers” got what they wanted. They wanted to tackle Obama on  the “serious” issues. The point of those who could see through the lies  surrounding his birth certificate was that they didn’t want to tackle  him on the serious issues. They never wanted him to get that far because they  feared when he did, it would be too late to save the country.

To the Conservatives who wanted to “take the high road” and engage Obama on  his own terms and merits, now is your chance. Try to expose his abuse of the  Patriot Act or peel back the layers of lies on Benghazi. Try to get beyond the “Cincinnati office” and find who was really responsible for the IRS targeting of  so many Conservative groups that it may have played even a small role in the  outcome of the 2012 election.

Carol Davidson, the head of integration and media targeting for the 2012  Obama campaign, spoke on the Fox News special Your Secret’s Out.  Speaking in generalities of “the cave,” a central Obama campaign hub that  manipulated the voting public, she said:  “The cave was where we put the  analysts…Multiple analysts were in that room,” doing “more like top secret work  right? So, you know, you don’t want…people coming by seeing what was on the  screens of everyone. And we actually, during the election, didn’t want people to  know that the group even existed.” Why the secrecy? Could it be because they  knew Americans wouldn’t appreciate their President dissecting and evaluating  them in a way that no elected official has ever stooped to  before?

In the cave, they worked on determining who the persuadable voters were in  the battleground states. They successfully blitzed television networks that  Republicans dismissed as irrelevant. Meanwhile the IRS was standing on the necks  of Conservative groups who naively thought they were contenders in a fair  fight.

Davidson developed something called the “optimizer,” to let her know what  television shows the target audience was watching and when. Obligingly, cable  companies sold out our privacy to assist. “We were able to get the data from our  vendors, ingest the data into our system, and at the same time pair that data to  the voter file data,” Davidson said. John Roberts, host of the show, told her  some people might find it creepy that there “was that much data out there about  them,” only to learn it was used in a political campaign. In a valley girl  accent dripping with the words “like” and “right?” Davidson answered, “To me at  the end of the day you get e-mails or direct mail sent to your house all the  time that like, you didn’t know the person who sent them to you and they still  knew your name…Is it just a difference, or is it really a concern about invading  your life?”

Note to Ms. Davidson: Like, it really is a concern about invading our lives.  Right?

Maybe I’m just feeling too parental, but when I see young women like Carol  Davidson and Holly Paz, the IRS supervisor who issued rulings on tax-exempt  groups, I can’t help but feel like these women needed to be sent to their rooms  without supper and had their cell phone privileges revoked, long before they  acquired any position of power.

As a woman, I am embarrassed by the likes of Lois Lerner, Victoria Nuland,  Susan Rice, Jen Psaki, Samantha Power, Carol Davidson, Holly Paz, and yes,  Hillary Clinton.  These volunteers mustered into Obama’s army are helping him  fundamentally transform (aka destroy) the country they are leaving to their own  children. I just hoped women would be smarter than  that.

It’s hard to believe that Sarah Palin — a constitutionally articulate,  intelligent, God-fearing woman with exceptional leadership skills — is merely a  Fox News Contributor. I fear the day may never come when Palin, and others like  her, will wrest our country from the mindless cast of Glee, who view us as  experimental tadpoles in their Progressive petri dish.

Many Conservatives left the birth certificate issue nicely covered in the  litter box. And while they spent their time attacking their fellow  Conservatives, young Progressives like Davidson and Paz were using their  Machiavellian skills to ensure they’d be ready when Conservatives decided it was  time to tackle the “serious issues.”

The fact remains that neither our citizens, nor our government or media  properly vetted a presidential candidate who had a childhood and upbringing that  would have raised red flags at the Behavioral Analysis Unit on Criminal Minds.

Many Independents, Democrats, (and some Conservatives) are just beginning to  realize the scope of Obama’s lies. With this much scandalous water under the “Hope and Change” bridge, the fact that a president forged/faked his birth  certificate may actually be a small blot on the American landscape by the time  he’s done dividing and conquering it. The sad part is — it didn’t have to be  this way.

The Church of ‘What’s Happenin’ Now’

The Church of What’s Happening Now

We were told Protestantism is nearly dead.  It seems everyone, including the mainstream media, has all but sealed its coffin.

Watching recent news coverage of Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation, and the election of Pope Francis, one would assume the Pope is indeed the leader of Christians everywhere.  The fact that not all Christians are Catholics is a small detail everyone seems lax to distinguish.

As soon as the new pope was announced, Fox News’ Megyn Kelly told her viewers that Jesus had appointed Peter the first Pope.  While the MSM carefully seeks to preface much of their news with politically correct caveats like “According to Muslim faith,” and “According to the Jewish faith,” it seems “According to the Catholic faith,” is suddenly unnecessary.  With Kelly’s statement, viewers who lack any religious knowledge would have envisioned Jesus placing a miter on Peter’s head right after the first white smoke drifted heavenward from  a chimney in Rome.

Time and again, we hear Catholic theology inserted into what has become ecumenical Protestantism.  The Via Doloroso for instance, with its 14 stations of the cross determined by the Catholic Church, is increasingly embraced by Protestant churches.  Some of these stations are strictly Catholic in origin, like #6, where Veronica Wipes Jesus Face.  There is nothing in the Bible about Veronica, but the Veil of Veronica, the cloth she supposedly used to wipe Jesus face, is a major Catholic relic kept at St. Peter’s Basilica.  The oral tradition is Catholic in origin and she is venerated as a Catholic saint.

One has to hand it to Catholics; their showmanship trumps anything in the Protestant church.   Even a Protestant like me, with documented ancestral ties to the first pious pilgrims, was drawn into the “Pope frenzy.”   Initially watching coverage of the papal conclave for historical purposes, I found myself being emotionally drawn to this man who, by most news accounts, was God’s representative on earth and the final authority on my faith.  I almost forgot the price that was paid by Martin Luther, who emancipated Christians with the knowledge that God is the final authority on their faith, both on earth and in heaven.   Still, I found myself almost wishing I were Catholic to join in the fun.

While most Protestants today willingly acknowledge Catholics are indeed Christians, there is still a movement within the Catholic church to quietly brand Protestants as heretics, in the pre-Vatican II belief that those who do not accept the Chair of Peter, the Seven Sacraments, or acknowledge the Church for Mother (Pope Pius IX, Singulari quidem of March 17, 1856) are not truly Christians:

There is only one true, holy, Catholic Church, which is the Apostolic Roman Church.  There is only one See founded in Peter by the word of the Lord, outside of which we cannot find either true faith or eternal salvation.  He who does not have the Church for a mother cannot have God for a father, and whoever abandons the See of Peter on which the Church is established trusts falsely that he is in the Church.

Protestants believe the Catholic Church worships false deities with statues of saints.  We do not have ‘relics,’ which is to say we don’t make pilgrimages to human bones in hopes they will heal us, we don’t worship Mary nor pray to her (though we acknowledge her as blessed among women), we don’t carry medallions in hope they will protect us or bring answers to our prayers.  Protestant doctrine holds that  anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their personal savior; accepts the Holy Trinity; asks God directly for forgiveness of their sins and follows the Ten Commandments — can be saved.  Additionally, through God’s grace, anyone can be saved.  That judgment call is up to Him.

Nevertheless, the papal frenzy that has gripped the world has left many Protestants wondering if they’re just not ‘cool’ anymore.  Are there no fist-bumps for us? The much talked about idea of a one world religion doesn’t seem too far-fetched when you look at the public relations success of a Catholic Church who, despite devastating scandals, is making Protestants who were formerly in the majority look like the Studebaker of the day.   Pope Francis seems to be leading a hugely successful public relations campaign to bring straying sheep back into the fold.   The Drudge report had daily coverage of Pope Francis non-traditional exploits in the days following his ascension to the throne. News reports filled with supernatural excitement as soon as lightning struck the Vatican, and a seagull descended from heaven to sit atop the Sistine Chapel chimney, hours before history announced a new Roman Catholic leader.  Can Protestantism survive without such pomp and circumstance and a central webcam broadcasting video worldwide?

We are faced with the dilemma of needing Christians of all faiths to unite in defense of a historically Christian country, and against an administration unfriendly to their beliefs. We live amongst a secular population that sees Christianity as antiquated.  How do we do this and still keep our Christian identities separate?  Or, in our high-minded pursuit of world peace, will we throw in the towel as we kneel to wash the Muslims feet in a grand display of religious tolerance?

Only time will tell if evangelical, traditional Protestants will survive in a culture that has succeeded in branding them as bible-thumping, ignorant Neanderthals.  Sadly, when all is said and done, it might just be easier for them to crash the party and join what comedienne Flip Wilson called, The Church of What’s Happening Now.  If they do, those great souls like John Calvin, Martin Luther, John Wycliffe and John Wesley, among others, will be shedding some tears in heaven…wondering what it was all for. We must not let that happen. We cannot be afraid to stand by the moral principles and Christian faith this country was founded on.
